The moment the demon King Thorne of the Third Realm set eyes on the mortal huntress Sable, he knew she was his fated one. The fiery, dangerous female awakened hungers he had never experienced before, a dark craving and passion that has consumed him in their time apart. As the lunar cycle wanes, she enters his world again and nothing will stand in the way of him claiming his forever with her—not the relentless assault from the Fifth Realm or the dark elf male determined to seduce her out of his grasp.

Intent on achieving the coveted position of commander at Archangel, Sable leads her small team into the dark underworld and the Third Realm, to a war where her allies are the very creatures she normally hunts—vampires, werewolves, and demons. Her eagerness to lead the deadly mission has everything to do with winning her promotion, and nothing to do with the kingdom’s brash, lethally seductive demon king—a king who stirred fierce desire and wildfire heat in her with just a look and an innocent touch when they first met, and has been in her wicked dreams ever since.

As the gathering storm between rivals unleashes irresistible passion that flares white-hot and the heat of the battle brings life-shattering realisations, can Sable place her duty before her heart? Or will she surrender to her deepest desires and be claimed by a demon king?

Claimed by a Demon King is the second book in the Eternal Mates series and can be read as a stand-alone.  This story is about Sable a huntress with Archangel (an organization that had been set up to keep order among paranormal species residing in the mortal realm) and Thorne the demon king of the third realm.  I was first introduced to Sable and Thorne in Kissed by a Dark Prince and since then I could not wait to read their story.  Since their first meeting it was clear that these two were destined to be eternal mates.

Sable is no ordinary female. She is a fighter and a demon huntress. She is strong, independent, caring and rather spirited.  She has been selected to lead a command unit into the Third Realm to assist Thorne in his war against the demon king of the fifth realm.  Sable’s desire was to become a commander and this mission was the test to prove her capability as such she could not afford to have any distraction.  She is aware that she is Thorne’s fated female, however she found it difficult to comprehend in light of the fact that he is a demon and her job is to hunt his kind.

Thorne is a warrior who is determined to protect his kingdom from his enemies. He is rather fierce and arrogant and is a force to contend with. However, when it came to Sable he was very tender, caring and patient. He is willing to wait as long as it took for Sable to accept that they belonged together.  Getting Sable to accept him as her fated mate would prove to be the hardest battles he has fought in his 3500 years.
The path to these two getting together was not easy. They were faced with quite a few obstacles one of which came in the form an elf named Bleu. It was quite funny to see the lengths that Bleu and Thorne went to just to impress Sable.  Bleu provoked Thorne every opportunity he got.  He wanted Sable for himself and would stop at nothing to win her over. After a while though I thought Bleu was being a bit difficult especially since he knew that Sable was not his fated female.

Claimed by a Demon King is a funny, entertaining, fast paced and quite riveting that is filled with lots of action.   Felicity Heaton is quite adept when it comes to writing the type of stories that pulls her readers in and hold their interest to the very end. She brings her characters to life and make everything appears quite realistic.  I loved the twist she placed on Sable’s past which helped to make this story very intriguing.  So far this is my favourite of the series and I can’t wait to see what next Felicity has in store for her fans.
If you love sexy paranormal stories that is filled with action, humour and a wide variety of  paranormal species then get yourself a copy of this book.

Men,” she muttered darkly. “ Doesn’t matter what species they are………. they’re all bloody idiots”.

I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for a honest review

Do you stop reading when tired or at chapter breaks?

I am forced to do the majority of my reading at nights due to the fact that I am quite busy in the daytime with work.  During this time I try to read as much as I possibly can, especially if I find what I am reading to be quite riveting. But then there comes a time when that pesky thing call sleep decides to interfere with my desire to read.  I do try to fight it at times but unfortunately it always triumph over my desire to finish especially when I am in the middle of a chapter.  So to answer the question, do you stop reading when tired or at chapter breaks? I would have to say it all depends on who wins the battle, sleep or me.

Vegas Mates, Book 4

Krystal Shannan

The last thing Nicole Demakis remembers was getting in the car with Sarah’s kidnapper and driving away. Now she faces the cold hard truth. The kidnapper, an agent of the Council, is her mate. But he refuses to claim her, and the Council may take everything away before she even has a chance to convince him to trust her.

But this infuriating woman, this wolf, his mate…is one hiccup after another and she’s arousing him to the point of pain. With his sister’s life hanging in the balance, he refuses to allow his passion to cost him the only family he has left.

Can he find a way to save his mate, or will he be forced to watch another claim the woman he loves?

Krystal Shannan goes to sleep every night dreaming of mythical realms with werewolves, vampires, fae, and dragons. Occasional a fabulous, completely human story slips into the mix, but powers and abilities usually crop up without fail, twisting reality into whatever her mind can conceive.

As a child, her parents encouraged her interests in Ancient Greek and Roman mythology and all things historical and magickal. As an adult, the interests only grew. She is a child of Neverland and refuses to ever stop believing in fairies. She is guilty of indulging in and being a Buffy the Vampire Slayer groupie as well as an Angel fan. For those of you unfamiliar with the world of Joss Whedon, you are missing out!

She also makes sure to watch as many action and adventure movies as possible. The more exciting the better. Yippee-Ki-Yay... If you don't know the end of that phrase, then you probably don't like the same movies.

She enjoys reading romance in all genres, but especially paranormal. Her favorite book is ACHERON by Sherrilyn Kenyon. But really, if it has a 'Happily Ever After', she's on board!

Krystal writes stories full of action, snark, magick, and heart-felt emotion. If you are looking for leisurely-paced sweet romance, her books are probably not for you. However, for those looking for a magickal ride, filled with adventure, passion, and just a hint of humor. Welcome home.

A Voice in the Night (From the Corner of Your Eye) - Dana Smythe

Marci Renault never thought that she was particularly special, but then she receives a text message that changes her life forever. It's a picture, just a picture, showing a patch of shadow in an otherwise sunny park, where no shadow should be. The problem is, the picture was sent by a colonel - who just happens to have been dead for over a hundred years.
Forced to confront a family secret that threatens to overwhelm her world and even her sanity, Marci is caught up and plunged into the dark corners of existence. Alone, not knowing where to turn or who to trust, she quickly realizes that some scary stories are absolutely true, and that there really are things that stalk you in the night.

A tale of obsession and discovery, the From the Corner of Your Eye trilogy portrays a young girl's struggle against dark and unknown forces.

I was absolutely thrilled to have received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I was thrilled because I am a big fan of the paranormal genre and was looking forward to reading about Marci and her encounter with the dark and unknown forces.

Of all the characters, Marci is my favourite. She has been living a normal life and never thought herself to be extraordinary but that all changed when she received a MMS from a colonel who has been dead for over one hundred years now. I thought she was quite brave because personally if I were the one who had been receiving those messages that phone would have been history. I found her to be quite intelligent and astute. There were times it was obvious that she was scared but she was not afraid to confront those fears to get to the truth. Then there was Ira who Marci had contacted to garner information about what was taking place. He was quite hilarious. What I found most hilarious about him was the fact that he was so into this whole paranormal thing but yet he was afraid of his own shadow. The other supporting characters were just as interesting; however I can’t say much about them without giving away the story. You will just have to read the book to find out.

The author’s writing style was quite descriptive and it left a lot to the imagination. There were times when I actually got scared for Marci. There were times when I thought that her curiosity was going to get the better of her. Well I guess if you are brave then you are going to have some amount of curiosity.

A Voice in the Night is the first book in the ‘From The Corner Of Your Eye Trilogy’ and it is most definitely a great start to the series. This is a very entertaining story that has a mix of paranormal, mystery and suspense that will keep readers on the edge of their seats. It surely had me on mine. I found myself turning the pages as I just had to find out what next Marci was going to encounter. There were quite a lot of twists and turns that had me guessing and I never could tell what was coming next. I was pulled into the story from the very beginning and I found it to be quite unique, fast paced and well written.

My only disappointment is that there were quite a few unanswered questions but I guess those will be answered in the next book which I can’t wait to read.

If you love your love stories with a mixture of paranormal, suspense and mystery then this book should be added to your reading list.

The Texas Cowboy (Western Cowboy Romance) - Katheryn Lane

Everything’s bigger in Texas, including the problems.

When Vicky flies into Texas, she immediately falls for the charms of local cowboy, Jack Cassidy. However, her wealthy Dallas cousin, Laura, has other ideas and will do everything she can to steer Vicky away from Jack and into the arms of a rich oilman.

Jack is resigned to living the life of a lonely cowboy whose only female company is his horses—that is, until he meets Vicky. However, Vicky isn’t the only person with a claim on his heart. Jack wasn’t always alone and his ex is about to make a dramatic comeback.

Every cowboy has a past and this cowboy’s past is about to destroy his future.

The Texas Cowboy is a short and sweet romantic read about Jake a Texan cowboy and Vicky an English girl who is vacationing in Texas. Vicky was visiting her cousin Laura whom she had met on a social network. While having lunch with her cousin, Vicky met Jack and it was quite clear that these two had chemistry between them. Laura did not approve of the two of them getting together as she thought Jack was poor and just a mere ranch hand. However, this all changed when she found out that he owned his own ranch.

I loved the chemistry between Vicky and Jack and I loved the way the romance was developed. Vicky was very likeable. She is honest and open and does not like secrets, however if she is called upon to hold something in confidence she would not hesitate to do so. Jack is a hunky cowboy who has been hurt in a previous relationship and since then has held himself aloof form women. The only real relationship he had is with his sister and his horses. This all changed when he met Vicky the gorgeous English girl.

I did not particularly like Laura. I found her to be shallow and snobbish. She lived a life of luxury and it appears she never worked a day in her life.

I would love to have had more information on Carly. Carly’s is Jack’s ex. She had some really serious issues and I was hoping for more details on this.

I was pulled into the story and found it quite enjoyable but that was before I reached the end. I was quite disappointed with the way the story ended so abruptly. When I came to the end I was literally thinking WHAT THE HECK! Where is the rest of it? I genuinely believe that ending could have been better developed.

Despite the disappointing ending this was a good read and I would recommend it to readers who love their romance stories short, sweet and funny.

Seduce (Vampire Erotic Theatre Romance, #3)

Bloodlust runs in his veins, a dark master waiting for the day it will reign over him. Now a woman with a pure soul and wicked intentions has him in her sights and is determined to crack the ice around his heart, and she might save or damn him.

Antoine stands apart from the world around him, a dangerous and broken soul who must maintain rigid control at all times or risk his dark addiction finally seizing hold of him. The shadows of his past haunt him and he sees his bleak future each night when his brother wakes screaming, his blood addiction turning him savage. He cannot allow himself to feel, but when Sera walks into Vampirerotique, the erotic theatre he runs with three other vampires, to audition, she awakens dangerous desires in him—hungers that could spell the end of both of them.

Sera has wanted Antoine since the night she first saw the gorgeous aristocrat vampire. She can’t ignore the deep carnal hunger he stirs in her or the ache to know the heat of his touch. With the help of her sire, an ex-performer at Vampirerotique, she sets in motion a game of seduction, one designed to thaw the ice in Antoine’s veins and make him burn for her.

When Sera discovers the shocking truth about his past and the darkness that lurks within him, will she be strong enough to seize his heart with both hands and win him forever or will she lose him to the ghosts that still haunt him?

This is the third book in the Vampirerotique series and just like the other two books Seduce can be read as a stand-alone.

Seduce is about Antoine an aristocratic vampire (pure blood) and Sera a fairly young elite vampire. Antoine is one of the owners of Vampireotique who has shut down his emotions and refused to develop any form of relationship because he feared that the bloodlust that ran through his veins would one day take control of him. He has deep dark secrets that constantly haunt him and the only person that he holds dear to his heart is his brother Snow, and he intends for it to remain so. This, however was about to change when he met Sera.

From the moment Sera laid eyes on Antoine she knew she wanted him and she is willing to pull out all the stops to achieve her goal. Despite the warnings she received from her sire that Antoine is someone to avoid she did not intend to give up on her goal. To this end she came up with the idea to audition for the theatre, even though this was not her type of thing. However, things did not go quite as planned. Antoine tried to fight what he was feeling for Sera but she was not about to let him get off so easily. He couldn’t fathom why he felt this way seeing that Sera is an elite and he was brought up to believe that elites were below him.

Antoine’s love for his brother, Snow was unconditional. Their bond was so strong that they always seem to know when one is in need of the other. Antoine was not about to let anyone come between them. Sera is very caring and compassionate which made it easy for Antoine to open up to her and bare his soul to her. I liked how she was very accepting of Antoine’s love for his brother. The connection between these two was strong and I so enjoyed the interaction between them. It was so hot and passionate.
I really enjoyed this installment in the series and so far it’s my favourite. This is a story of love, forgiveness and healing. It depicts how letting go of the pain of the past will allow one to move and be able to live life to the fullest.

If you are looking for a hot paranormal story with heart then I highly recommend this title.

Awesome Read.

Selling her body would be immoral. It would be wrong.

But strange things are happening at the company. No matter which decision she makes, she might be in danger.

One thing is for sure: If she takes this assignment, Jess will never be the

This is the first book in a five part series and it is of to a good start. My only peeve is in the way it ended. I just hate cliffhangers.

Revenge is about a young and innocent farm girl named Jess who has come to LA for an internship at Morris Music, an Indie music company. During one of her walks on the streets of LA she happened upon Dylan a street guitarist/singer. The attraction between these two was instantaneous.

Dylan is quite mysterious and it's evident that he has secrets which he does not want to be uncovered even if it means giving up his dream of being a well established musician. The management of Morris Music is intent on finding out those secrets and has no qualms about using Jess to achieve this as they are aware that there is chemistry between these two.

Revenge is a quick, funny, entertaining and intriguing read. I cant' wait to find what's going to happen next.

Very Enjoyable.

Angelique is no ordinary diva. She’s the world’s greatest singer—and mystery. That’s why Brian Andrews, an American investigative reporter at Our World magazine, is assigned to do what others have failed: uncover Angelique’s past and secrets.

But Angelique herself has never known her past and fears that she will never see her future, thanks to a controlling couple who hold her career and life in their tight fists. Raised by nuns in an abbey in France, she has never known freedom. Brian offers her hope by aiding in her escape from her sequestered life, putting his career on the line.

Is he after the glory of the big story, or is he the one person Angelique can finally trust to help her?

This was quite an entertaining and unique read.  I was pulled into the story from the very first page and I found it very difficult to put it down.  Special Angel is a beautiful story of love, loss and forgiveness. It depicts the lengths persons will go to just to satisfy their greed and to cover up their wrongs.  It shows also the ripple effect one person’s action can have on the lives of those close to them.

I totally fell in love with Angelique. She is a singer with the most beautiful voice.  She had led a secluded life for most of her years.  She is strong, innocent and pure.  She has been through so much that I was happy to see her finally gain her freedom and experience love.

My least favourite characters are Morris and Edwina Davidson. It is not possible to go into much detail about these two without giving away the story, so you will just have to read the story for yourself to find out why they disgust me so much.

Special Angel brought out an array of emotions. It made angry, sad and happy. It was a very poignant story that is going to be staying with me for a very long time.

If you love your romance stories with a lot of heart then this book is for you and I hope you enjoy it like I did.

Enter the dark, sinful and seductive world of the vampire owners of London's premier vampire erotic theatre, Vampirerotique, and discover how these powerful vampires are brought to their knees by the women who claim their hearts.

His mind has been set on his work for the past one hundred years. Now a forbidden beauty has stolen his attention and is threatening to steal his heart too.

Callum has come to the city of romance on business, not pleasure, but when he sets eyes on a gorgeous werewolf in a nightclub, he can't ignore the dark carnal craving she ignites in him. His work for Vampirerotique, the erotic theatre he runs with three other vampires, can wait. The only thing that matters now is satisfying his sinful hunger for a woman who most vampires would consider an enemy.

Kristina is on the run from her pack. Her alpha is intent on forcing her to bear his child and she's not about to live through the same nightmare as her mother had. When a tall, dark and sexy vampire catches her eye, she can't believe the ferocity of the desire he unleashes in her or the fact that she enjoys the feel of his eyes on her and his silent pursuit of her in the clubs each night.

When Kristina finally gets a taste of Callum in a forbidden kiss, will she be strong enough to resist the allure of the vampire and his offer to share his bed for a week of unbridled, wild sex, or will she surrender to her own craving for the safety and passion she finds in his embrace?

This is the second book in the Vampirerotique series and I find this title to be hotter, steamier and more sizzling than the first book

.Crave is about Callum an elite vampire, who is part owner of Vampirerotique. His job with the theatre involves scouting for new talent. He was on a mission in Paris to scout for new talent to perform at the theatre. While there he encountered a werewolf named Kristina. Callum found himself drawn to Kristina which he found strange at first since vampires and werewolves were sworn enemies. Kristina is on the run from her pack (located in England) as the alpha was intent on forcing her to bear his child.

Callum’s focus has been on his job with the theatre and as such did not have time for any form of relationship. However that all changed when he met Kristina. Their meeting was quite explosive. He was intent on making Kristina is own.

Kristina is rather strong-willed and very self-reliant, however in spite of these attributes her greatest fear was having her heart broken. It was this fear that was preventing her from getting close to Callum even though she was intensely attracted to him.

Crave is a story of love and loss. It speaks to the crippling effect that fear can have on our lives if we allow it to. The love scenes are quite hot and as such this book is only suitable for mature audiences.

If you love hot and steamy paranormal romance then this book is a must read

AUTHOR : Krystal Shannan
PUBLISHER : Krystal Shannan

Keeping secrets is dangerous…and painful.
The last man who found out Lizzy MacLaughlin’s secret left without so much as a goodbye. Now, utterly in love, Lizzy holds her breath that her six-month relationship with retired army ranger, Ethan Hart, won’t end the same way.

Life is never perfect…or easy.

Ethan is head-over-heels in love with Lizzy, and warring schedules make time together precious. Determined to be together without interruptions, they plan a weekend getaway at his lake house –unaware the past Ethan is trying to ignore is coming hell-bent on destroying what Ethan holds most dear.

Will Lizzy’s secret tear them apart, or will something far worse threaten their very lives?

This is the final book in the MacLaughlin family series and I can say without a doubt that the best was saved for last. This is quite a terrific read.

The characters were quite realistic. It was quite easy to relate to Lizzy as it relates to the secret she was keeping from Ethan. She was a bit fearful to tell Ethan her secret as the last guy she dated left her because of it.
It is clear from the get go that Ethan was totally and completely in love with Lizzy and he was not afraid to let her know it. He was not afraid to show is sensitive side. There were a few emotional moments that may have you reaching for some tissue.
I loved how the author incorporated the action scene. It was quite unexpected but it fit into the story quite neatly.
If you are looking for a short yet exciting read then look no further. Just like the other books in the series this is a definite must read.

They’ve burned for each other for two years, the forbidden attraction between them growing each night. Now resisting the sinful desires of their hearts is becoming impossible.
Javier knows better than to succumb to his hunger for Lilah. The mortal female belongs to a powerful aristocrat patron of Vampirerotique, the theatre he runs with three other vampires. A single touch is all it would take to break the sacred law of his kind, sentencing himself to death, but his passion for her has become too fierce to ignore and he will risk everything to make Lilah his.

Lilah has fought her desire for Javier since arriving at his theatre as a servant but each glance he has stolen, his eyes promising pleasure that will satisfy her longing for him, has chipped away at her defenses and she can no longer deny her need and her forbidden feelings for the powerful vampire male.

When they find themselves alone in a private box during one of the erotic performances, will they surrender to their passion and live out their wildest fantasies in a night of wicked pleasure or will the threat of Lilah’s master keep them apart forever?

Wow! I am so lost for words just now. Covet is one hot, steamy, spicy and sizzling read. This is absolutely a great start to the Vampire Erotic Theatre Series.

Covet is about Javier an elite vampire (who is 633 years old) who is part owner of the vampire erotic theatre and who has a forbidden attraction to Lilah (a human female) for two years. Javier, however, was unable to act on his feelings as Lilah was bonded by blood to Lord Ashville an aristocrat vampire who also happened to be a patron of the theatre. Javier knew that acting on his feelings for Lilah would ultimately lead to his death, as there is a rule that states that a human bonded to one vampire could not be touched by another vampire.

I found Javier to be sensitive and quite the gentleman. I liked the fact that he is willing to fight for Lilah when he came to the realization that his feelings were reciprocated. Lilah is a strong heroine who knows what she wants and has no reservations about fighting to achieve just that. She is willing to risk all to be with Javier.

Covet is quite a unique story that had me turning the pages as I absolutely could not wait to find out if Javier and Lilah would be able to overcome the obstacles to their happily ever after.

This is the third book I am reading for Felicity Heaton and I must say she has me hooked. She has definitely become one of my must read authors. She knows just how to pull her readers in and hold their attention to the very end.

If you love paranormal romances that are hot and spicy then you need to get a copy of Covet, it will be worth it.

Paranormal Angel Romance Ebook - Her Dark Angel by Felicity Heaton (Her Angel Paranormal Romance Series)

Title: Hiding from Hollywood

Author: Ellie Darkins

Genre: Contemporary Romance

Length: 158 PAGES

Abby has succumbed to a life as a Hollywood cliché: the actress/waitress. But unlike most she’s keeping the “actress” part buried in her past. After a traumatic start to her life in Hollywood she’s decided to disappear from the limelight.

When movie producer Ethan Walker walks into her diner, she’s terrified. There’s nothing she wants more than to run and hide; the last thing she wants or needs is for her name to be connected with his. That way leads to tabloids, journalists, and exposure.
But Ethan has thought of nothing but Abby for months: the beautiful, talented actress who will save his career when she agrees to take the lead role in his movie. The project’s on the rocks already, and without her, it will certainly be canceled and his career will be over.

When a shooting in Abby’s apartment block leaves her without a safe place to stay, Ethan offers her sanctuary in his home—but she knows it cannot come without strings attached. And so, with her attraction to him growing, Abby must decide whether she can finally stop running and trust Ethan with her secret.

Hiding from Hollywood is about Abby, a young British soap opera actress who came to Los Angeles intent on making it big in Hollywood.  This dream was cut short after a traumatic event resulted in her removing herself from the limelight.  Her attempts at disappearing were successful until Ethan Walker (movie producer) walked into the diner she was working.  Ethan needed Abby to save his career and was willing to go to just about any lengths to get her to agree to star in his movie.

The pace was a bit slow and they were some parts that dragged and seemed to be going nowhere.  I found it hard to connect to the characters.  I found Ethan to be manipulative and somewhat domineering.  Abby on the other hand was allowing a secret from her past to hold her back from having a satisfying and fruitful life.  I found them to be quite predictable as I could tell what next they were going to do. Character development was lacking as there was not enough background information on the characters. I felt the author placed too much focus on Abby’s secret.

The romance could also have been better developed.  They fell in love too quickly, especially in light of the fact that Abby was trying to avoid relationship especially with someone as famous as Ethan.

This was one of the hardest reviews I had to write as this story did not grab me in the way I was hoping it would.  I was somewhat disappointed as the blurb made it appear that this was going to be quite an exciting and compelling story. This however was not the case. Don’t get me wrong the concept was good, but the author’s writing style made it a bit tedious for me to read.
