Corbin's Bend Release Blitz

The ad read: “Full-time housekeeper/nanny position. Live-in preferred. References and experience required. Salary negotiable.  Apply in person.”

Cadence Westmore knew she wasn’t qualified for the job, but for a paycheck and an apartment, she was determined to apply. As an ex-dancer with two bad legs and no experience with children, she expected to be turned down. What she didn’t expect was the instant attraction she felt when Corbin Bend’s resident doctor took her in his capable hands.
A widower with three boys to raise, Dr. Marcus Devon knew he needed help. But he also knew Cadence was the last person he should hire. Still he gave her the job, opening his home and his life to a woman as stubborn as she was lovely and as determined not to need him as he was to make her his.
She was her own worst enemy, pushing herself to exceed her wounded body’s physical limitations until the doctor finally stepped in to apply some good old-fashioned bare-bottom medicine. The more she rebelled, the more he took her across his knee until at last Cadence realized if she wasn’t careful, she just might lose everything all over again.

He could have opened the door sooner, extended a hand, offered support while she heaved herself that last step higher, but his brief visit with her yesterday had been plenty long enough to tell him exactly how that would have been received.
There was an awful lot of pride in Cadence’s willowy frame. He could just see it now, the look she’d give his fingers, that heated flush that would pinken her high cheeks right before she lifted her chin, snubbing his attempt to help. That lift of her chin had haunted him for a ridiculously long time last night. He’d actually lain awake in his bed thinking about it. Well, that and the saucy tilt and swish of her hips as she’d limped away from him, determined to walk despite her obvious pain. Determined to do what she could, if she could, all for herself.
God, he found that sexy. Admirable, too. Maybe just a little bit aggravating around the edges. A woman on her own ought to be self-reliant—he’d never been drawn to the wilting flower sort—but at the same time, a woman ought to know when to lean on her man’s strong arm.
Except that he wasn’t her man. Her boss, sure, but not her man. He barely knew a thing about her.
Her good girl behavior.
No four words in existence should have this much power to fire a man’s imagination. He’d been alone too long. That was it, in a nutshell. He’d been alone and he was bringing a young, beautiful woman into his house for the first time since Stacy. Well, that wasn’t true exactly. There had been Libby, but right from the start she had been unavailable, already attached at the heart to her young husband. That had to be the difference. He’d never once been tempted by Libby. But Cadence…?
He’d bet his life she was submissive.
…my good girl behavior…
Last night, lying awake in his bed with a mind full of stubborn chin lilts, and sexy hip tilts, and a whole lot of ‘damn, but he knew better than this’ reservations, he’d still fantasized about all the possibilities that could be explored if he chose to cross the line she’d drawn in the proverbial sand using nothing but those four little words.

Available for purchase on July 23rd!

So, Maren, you’ve just finished Last Dance for Cadence. Is that it for Corbin’s Bend? What’s next?
Although we were only slated for 10 books to start in the Corbin’s Bend series, I know several authors are already working on the next set of stories. I also have another story idea that I’d love to place in the Corbin’s Bend. At this point, I believe we’re waiting to see if the publisher is going to allow us to continue to play in that universe. J I hope they will.
As for what’s next? Oh, tons of things. I’ve currently got four stories that I’m actively writing on. A year ago, too many deadlines forced me to put Karly’s Wolf on the shelf. Right now, that’s my top priority. I am determined to get that story finished before the end of summer. Sadly, it’s not a spanking story, so it probably won’t get a lot of page time here.
However, there are spankings in the other three stories. One is Ana Adored, the F/f Masters of the Castle story that I am collaborating on with Anastasia Vitsky. Another is Dividing Desiree, the next M/f in the Masters of the Castle series starring twin dominants Masters Travis and Trevor. The third is one I hope to have published by the end of July. It’s a standalone, which has no working title as of yet. I’m simply calling it Unknown. It’s about a business woman who has built a very successful career around making all the right decisions and now all she wants is a dominant man who will, temporarily, strip her of all choices. It’s a very erotic, seductive journey into submission that kind of extends a passing nod at “capture” and non-con stories in that she puts herself into a position where a Dom completely controls her. It’s one I think most women, submissive or not, have fantasized about at least once or twice—willingly going to a man who, for a time, will mentally, physically and sexually own her.
Although I would never consider it for real, this story has been one of my go-to fantasies for a long time. If I do it right, hopefully it will become one of your go-to fantasies as well.
