I sat up on the couch and looked around, confused to have found myself alone in the dark. I put my hand to my lips, remembering his kisses. Remembering his touch. The details from that life were becoming clearer, though no less painful. I laid down again and curled into a ball. The pain of his absence was almost more than I could bear.
